We accidentally bought too many flowers when we were doing yard work. So I went to the Dollar Tree and picked up two pots. I painted them with my chalkboard spray paint. Then I put our address on one and the word "welcome" on the other. These pots are on the front porch so they stay out of the rain, which in this case is a good thing. I liked how they turned out and I didn't waste any flowers!

Thank You Idea
This "Thank You" idea has nothing to do with our house but I loved it and thought I would share it! It was a fun way to say, "Thank you" to someone who has devoted a lot of time, care, and effort into something. We made these for the people that helped us prepare for our Special Olympics at school. The little buckets are filled with an assortment of mints.

It all comes out in the wash: Part 2
It took a little longer then expected but I finally decorated the laundry room. Here it is!
The flash makes the color of the walls look odd, but here is the view of the room from the hallway.
I found most of the things on this shelf at an antique shop. I also made another wreath, put old picture frames, and extra towels out to fill the shelf space.
I bought an old picture from Salvation Army. I took the picture out of the frame. Then made this with those wedding photo booth pictures you never know what to do with.
Here is another angle. I am very pleased with the vinyl wall art. I could see myself doing it again. It was a very cheep way to decorate the wall, and it was not as cheesy looking as I was afraid it might be.
Now that the laundry room is complete, I think I will tackle our mudroom area.

Lamp Shade Make Over!
My husband has kindly asked me to stop turning things into chalkboard around the house because I went a little crazy after I bought some chalkboard spray paint. Now he has asked me to stop covering things in burlap. Here is my latest burlap project. I took an old IKEA lamp that I have kept on my desk at school and covered it with scraps of burlap. Its new home is my laundry room.
Old IKEA lamp shade.
I covered it with burlap.
I glued A LOT of burlap scraps.

Wreath Making
I started working on this burlap wreath this past weekend. I just finished it and I am pretty pleased! Here is how I did it. It was very easy!
My materials:
My materials:
The first thing you do is poke a hole.
Then you add glue.
Twist a square of burlap onto the screwdriver and plug it into the hole.
Half finished!
Finished!
I decided to put it on my fireplace! I love it!
